Critics at Large

The New Yorker

Since The New Yorker’s founding, the magazine has been renowned for astute, in-depth analysis of the arts. Critics at Large, a new weekly podcast, will bring staffers’ expansive knowledge and lively debates about film, books, theatre, television, and pop culture directly to listeners.
Each week, co-hosts Vinson Cunningham, Naomi Fry, and Alexandra Schwartz will offer incisive, sometimes laugh-out-loud funny commentary on the cultural fixations of the day, classic texts they’re revisiting with fresh eyes, and everything in between. Special episodes will break down blockbuster New Yorker features, revealing behind-the-scenes insights into Jia Tolentino’s time on tour with Matty Healy or Michael Schulman’s brush with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
On this conversational, wide-ranging show, the magazine’s writers open up as never before, helping listeners become informed and attuned to our cultural moment—and understand how we got here.
